A backlight compensation method and a liquid crystal display indicating the detection state of a fault lamp are provided to correct the brightness around the defective lamp and detect the defective lamp. A current detector(120) detects the current supplied to a lamp. A controller(110) determines whether the corresponding lamp as the detected current. The calibrate command is outputted in case of judging as fault. An intensity and brightness corrector(130) compensates the screen luminance or the brightness value of the corresponding lamp circumference. A switching unit converts into the AC signaling luminance and brightness corrector. A transformer applies the current signal. |
