METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ESTMATING ECHO CANCELLATION FILTER USING A SCHEME TO PREDICT CHANNEL COEFFICIENTS IN MULTI-CARRIER SYSTEM

A method and an apparatus for estimating an echo cancellation filter using a scheme for predicting channel coefficients in a multi-carrier system are estimate and cancel an echo signal in a wireless relay device operating in the multi-carrier system. An echo channel linear prediction coefficient estimator(401) estimates a current echo channel coefficient of a training signal interval including a preamble and a previous echo channel linear estimation coefficient by using a previous echo channel coefficient. The previous echo channel linear estimation coefficient is a coefficient between the training signal interval and a previous training signal interval. A next echo channel coefficient estimator(407) estimates a next echo channel coefficient. An echo channel coefficient estimator outside the training signal estimates an echo channel generated between the current echo channel coefficient and the estimated next echo channel coefficient.
