The tile (10) has a front surface (1) and a rear surface connected with each other by upper and lower edges (3, 4) and side edges (5, 6). The edges (3, 4) and edges (5, 6) are extended with each other in respective directions of length and width of the tile, where the length of the tile is greater than the width. A rectangular shaped recess (7) permits the passage of cylindrical conduit e.g. smoke conduit, and includes large dimensions in the width direction than in the length direction of the tile. The recess has an elongated shape oriented transversally relative to the length of tile. An independent claim is also included for a chimney, comprising a cross bar for covering a recess.
