Disclosed is a refrigerator oil containing an ester of a polyhydric alcohol and a fatty acid containing 50-100% by mole of a fatty acid having 5-9 carbon atoms, not less than 30% by mole of a branched fatty acid having 5-9 carbon atoms, and not more than 40% by mole of a linear fatty acid having 5 or less carbon atoms. This refrigerator oil is characterized by being used together with a fluoropropene refrigerant and/or a trifluoroiodomethane refrigerant. Also disclosed is a working fluid composition for refrigerator, which is characterized by containing the above-mentioned ester, and a fluoropropene refrigerant and/or a trifluoroiodomethane refrigerant.
