NON-HUMAN MAMMALIAN MODEL ANIMAL OF EPILEPSY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a true model animal of epilepsy as well as a method for easily distinguishing a recombinant, since conventional model animals are so-called convulsion model animals in which convulsive seizure is forcibly induced.

SOLUTION: The non-human mammalian model animal of epilepsy is a non-human mammalian model animal of epilepsy such as a rat having the same gene abnormality as the gene abnormality of human epilepsy, wherein the non-human mammalian model animal of epilepsy has a mutant gene which is obtained by introducing genetic mutation causing genetic abnormality and a specific probe into the non-human mammalian animal DNA of a neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptor α 4 subunit (CHRNA4) gene associated with human autosome-dominant nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy or a β 2 subunit (CHRNB2) gene. The recombinant of the non-human mammalian model animal of epilepsy can be also easily distinguished.
