<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate processing by decoding an encoded pixel block in a direction orthogonal to a scan direction. <P>SOLUTION: On a first decoding processing stage, a decoding part sequentially decodes encoded image data in an input buffer and during decoding, regarding encoded data of P pieces of pixel blocks in a horizontal direction from the left end of an image, image data corresponding to the decoded pixel blocks are stored in an output buffer but image data after the (P+1)th pixel block in the horizontal direction are not stored in the output buffer. During processing of the first decoding processing by the decoding part, a decoding table creating part stores in a decoding table memory the bit position of encoded data of the (P×n+1)th ((n) is an integer of≥1) pixel block in the horizontal direction and a DC prediction value. After the end of the first decoding processing stage, on a second decoding processing stage, on the basis of decoding index information in the decoding table memory, the decoding part iteratively carries out decoding and outputting of an area indicated by äP×n+1 to P×(n+1)}th pixel block in a horizontal direction and N pixel blocks in a vertical direction, for n=1, 2, 3, etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
