PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately grasp a print status during printing in a printing apparatus capable of measuring a consumption of a colorant during printing. SOLUTION: The printing apparatus includes a density measuring means, a range segment counting means, and an output means. The density measuring means measures a print density on a print sheet. The range segment counting means counts the number of print sheets falling within each of a plurality of print density segments based on the print density measurement results of the density measuring means.
