The invention relates to a protective glass module for adaptation to the main lens (2) of a surgical microscope (1), wherein the module (6b) comprises a spherical protective glass (5) having a refractive power of 0 dpt. The protective glass is connected to a drape. In a further embodiment, the module (6c, 6d) comprises a protective glass system having two optical components (13a, 14a; 13b, 14b), wherein a drape part (10a, 10b) is force-clamped between the components (13a, 14a; 13b, 14b) in the manner of a sandwich, while forming an extensively non-planar foil region (10a). This overall system also has a refractive power of 0 dpt. The protective glass module (6b, 6c, 6d), which is constructed in a flat manner, having an attached or integrated drape (10, 10a, 10b), is utilized as a device for maintaining the sterility of the main lenses (2) of surgical microscopes (1). |
