PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus and its destination setting method for simply placing a call to an input telephone number, and reducing a time and a burden required for a repetitive input if there is not location data corresponding to the input telephone number in the database when a destination is set by inputting the telephone number. SOLUTION: When the destination is set by the telephone number, the telephone number is stored if there is not the location data corresponding to the input telephone number in the database. If the user chooses to place the call to the telephone number, a control for placing the call to the telephone is implemented. If the call is requested to be placed to the destination, an abbreviated dialing selection button for the telephone number is displayed.
