<p>Disclosed is a pneumatic tire in which the air column resonance produced by grooves in the circumferential direction of a tire can be reduced without changing the shape of a lug groove of the type which is open at one side, wherein a lug groove 20, comprising a lateral groove portion 21 that extends in the width direction of the tire and opens at one end to the circumferential groove side and at the other end communicates with a sub-groove 12 provided in a land portion 15, and an inclined groove portion 22 which extends to cut across the width direction of the tire and the circumferential direction of the tire and which at one end communicates with the aforementioned sub-groove 12 and at the other end terminates within the aforementioned land portion 15, is formed in the aforementioned land portion 15 which is demarcated by the grooves in the circumferential direction, and wherein a projection portion 23 that projects from a base portion of the lug groove 20 and has a height h that is lower than the height H of the aforementioned land portion 15 as measured from the base portion of the lug groove 20 is provided in the lateral groove portion 21 of the aforementioned lug groove 20.</p> |
