FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in the industrial production of high quality ingots of zirconium-columbium alloys additionally microalloyed with iron and oxygen including the nuclear industry. The method involves compressing briquettes from a mixture of zirconium and columbium powders and alloying elements, making a bar out of the briquettes, a consumable electrode is made from the bar, iodide rods and zirconium wire and the ingot is made by the repeated vacuum arc melting. Separate portions of the oxygen-containing alloying addition as columbium pentoxide or zirconium dioxide and a mixture of zirconium and columbium powders are prepared for each briquette with a preliminary preparation of a mixture of iron and zirconium powders receiving a batch desired for the total number of the briquettes followed by division into portions corresponding to the number of the briquettes, the portions are mixed and a batch of iodide zirconium pieces is added. ^ EFFECT: production of ingots from high quality zirconium-columbium alloys additionally microalloyed with iron and oxygen, with a high chemical homogeneity by means of melting consumable electrodes in the vacuum arc furnaces. ^ 2 cl, 1 tbl, 1 ex |
