PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell having a superior water drainage property and high power generation efficiency.

SOLUTION: The fuel cell is equipped with a catalyst layer having catalyst particles, a gas diffusion layer having water-repellent member, and an intermediate layer which is arranged between the gas diffusion layer and the catalyst layer, and in which the water-repellent member and the catalyst particles exist in a mixed manner.
