<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an implement for assisting introduction of a guide wire into a catheter which facilitates introduction and elimination of the guide wire into and from the catheter inserted into a living body. <P>SOLUTION: The implement for assisting introduction of a guide wire into a catheter has a main unit having a distal end and a proximal end. The main unit has a groove section extending from the distal end to the proximal end. A guide wire proximal end introducing section for introducing the proximal end of a guide wire is arranged near the distal end of the groove section, and a catheter distal end fixing section is arranged near the proximal end of the groove section.
