<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical filter with an earth electrode part easy to ground, which is excellent in productivity, and an optical filter obtained thereby. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a display optical filter with an earth electrode part comprises scanning a laminated body including a transparent substrate, a metal conductive layer formed over the whole surface thereof, and a functional layer formed on the whole surface of the metal conductive layer while emitting a laser beam with a linear or elliptical converged light shape along a side end part or a side end vicinity part of the functional layer to remove the functional layer in the emitting area and expose the metal conductive layer.
