PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fender capable of easily increasing the performance of an existing fender. SOLUTION: This fender 1 comprises an impact receiving panel 2 on which an external force F acts and a body rubber part 3 extended/retracted when the impact receiving panel 2 is displaced. A hollow part 31 is formed by the impact receiving panel 2, a body rubber part 3, and a base plate 4 opposed to the impact receiving panel. A reaction force increasing member 6 having a steel pipe 61 the end of which is affixed to the base plate 4 and a damping rubber part 62 attached to the impact receiving panel side of the steel pipe 61 is installed in the hollow part 31.
