The invention relates to a seat assembly (1) for an aircraft, in particular for a passenger in a passenger cabin. Said assembly comprises several sensor modules (2) for monitoring the state and/or occupation of the seat assembly (1) and delivering this information to a processor unit (3) that is centrally located in the aircraft. According to the invention, a transceiver unit (4) that is assigned to the seat assembly (1) is provided and the sensor modules (2) are designed to operate wirelessly and deliver information by means of an autonomous power supply to the transceiver unit (4) via a sensor radio route (5), in order to transmit said information to the processor unit (3) by means of the transceiver unit (4).
