<p>A discharge tube (17) comprises a glass tube (30), a cap (40) disposed at the end of the glass tube (30), and lead wires (32a, 32b) formed at the end of the glass tube (30). The lead wires (32a, 32b) are brought into contact with the cap (40) while bent inside the cap (40) and can receive electric power supply from outside via the cap (40). By bending the lead wires (32a, 32b) constituting non-light-emitting portions of the discharge tube (17), the apparent lengths of the lead wires (32a, 32b) can be reduced, and the proportion of light-emitting-portions in the entire length of the discharge tube (17) can be increased.</p> |
