<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of a transfer failure in a sheet in a transfer section by allowing the amount of moisture in the sheet to be closely uniform while attaining saving of energy. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes: a heating section 23 which is arranged in the width direction orthogonal to the sheet transporting direction in a sheet transporting path between a sheet supplying section 203 and a transfer section 12 and heats the sheet which is being transported; and a control section 900 for controlling a heat generation action of the heating section 23. The heating section 23 has a plurality of heat generating bodies which are arranged side by side in the width direction. The control section 900 changes a heat generating body to generate heat among a plurality of heat generating bodies according to the position of the sheet that the heating section 23 faces, when the sheet passes the heating section 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
