PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supercharger of a diesel engine capable of enhancing an accelerating ability of a vehicle loaded with a diesel engine. SOLUTION: This supercharger includes an exhaust turbocharger 60 for supercharging air of an intake passage by rotating a compressor 66 arranged in the intake passage 20 by rotation of a turbine 62 arranged in an exhaust passage 50, an electric supercharger 34 for supercharging the air of the intake passage by electrically rotating the compressor 35 arranged in the intake passage, compression ratio variable means 104 and 8a for changing the compression ratio determined by the combustion chamber volume and the displacement volume by a piston, and a control means 100 for controlling so as to operate the electric supercharger and reduce the compression ratio by the compression ration variable means in acceleration.
