PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure kneading machine capable of performing the kneading under conditions of higher load than the conventional one and to provide an operation method of the pressure kneading machine. SOLUTION: The pressure kneading machine comprises: a mixing tank 20 which has an opening disposed on an upper part thereof for charging material and discharging the material by having the mixing tank inclined; two rotors disposed in parallel in the mixing tank 20; and a pressure mechanism 40 for pressing the material, wherein two driving shafts 27, 28 parallel to each other in the outer part of the mixing tank 20 are respectively extended from the two rotors to a driving device 12, the driving shaft 28 has an air clutch 34 for cutting connection with the driving device 12, the connection between the driving shaft 28 and the driving device 12 is cut by the air clutch 34 and, thereby, the mixing tank 20 is inclined around the other driving shaft 27 as the center axis.
