PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collapsible umbrella which can be more thinly collapsed while securing strength. SOLUTION: The collapsible umbrella 1 includes: base ribs 20; stretchers 30; and lower connecting rods 40 forming link mechanisms to bend/extend the ribs in conjunction with the development/convergence of the stretchers. In a state where the umbrella is opened, the base ribs and the stretchers are in flat bar shapes to be radially extended from a shank 3 and also the broad surfaces (21, 31) of the flat bar shapes are orthogonally crossed with an umbrella cloth. The stretchers are bent in substantially crank shapes so as to be in parallel along the base ribs 20, while allowing the broad surfaces on the side of front ends 32 to be bent in a prescribed direction toward the side of the ribs, the front ends are directly and freely turnably connected to the base ribs, whereby the stretchers are converged substantially in parallel with the base ribs leaving gaps t1 in a state where the umbrella is closed. The lower connecting rods are bent at the base ends 41 in a hook shape, the base ends are put through-holes 36 formed in the stretchers from the side of the ribs and connected to the stretchers, whereby the lower connecting rods are converged along the base ribs and the stretchers while fitted into the gaps when the umbrella is closed.
