PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform a user of clogging of an exhaust filter 5 in a vacuum cleaner using a high-performance exhaust filter as the exhaust filter 5 to promote the maintenance and change of the exhaust filter 5 at appropriate timing. SOLUTION: The exhaust filter 5 is mounted in an exhaust channel 17, and a pressure variation valve 20 is disposed as a pressure detecting unit for detecting air pressure (air pressure inside the exhaust channel 17) on the upstream side of the exhaust filter 5. When the pressure inside the exhaust channel 17 is increased to a prescribed pressure or higher, the pressure variation valve 20 is opened to prevent breakage or the like of the exhaust filter 5, and part of the exhaust flows into an air leaking chamber 21. When part of the exhaust flows into the air leakage chamber 21, the pressure inside the air leakage chamber 21 is increased and an information button 22 projects upward from a body housing 2a, so that the user is informed of the clogging of the exhaust filter 5.
