<p>A travel planning device (100) including an input part (101), an acquisition part (102), a setting part (103) and a traffic jam estimation part (104). The input part (101) accepts inputs of a point of departure, a destination and desired arrival time at the destination. The acquisition part (102) acquires traffic jam statistic information including statistics of past traffic jams. The setting part (103) sets a first route from the point of departure to the destination and a travel schedule of the first route based on the point of departure, the destination and the desired arrival time. The traffic jam estimation part (104) estimates the traffic jam occurring on the first route and delay time caused by the jam. In addition, the setting part (103) searches for a rest area when the delay time is predetermined or longer, and sets a second route from the point of departure to the destination via the rest area and a travel schedule of the second route for avoiding a jam which causes predetermined or longer delay time.</p> |
