摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce irregular density by compensation with the aid of adjacent pixel trains. <P>SOLUTION: In the correction value obtaining method, a first test pattern constituted by arranging a plurality of pixel trains where a plurality of pixels are arranged in a predetermined direction in a direction crossing the predetermined direction is formed. the first test pattern is read by a scanner to obtain a first read gradation value of each pixel train, and a first correction value is calculated for each pixel train on the basis of the first read gradation value. Then, a second test pattern constituted by arranging the pixel trains in the crossing direction is formed by using the first correction value, the second test pattern is read by the scanner to obtain a second read gradation value for each pixel train, and a correction value is calculated for each pixel train on the basis of the first read gradation value and the second read gradation value.
