RETARDATION FILM, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RETARDATION FILM, POLARIZING PLATE, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film excellent in haze and contrast while maintaining slipping property during production, and to provide a polarizing plate having no decrease in a yield by foreign matters during processing the polarizing plate by using the above retardation film, and to provide a liquid crystal display device mounted with the polarizing plate, the device being excellent in visibility.

SOLUTION: The retardation film has a back coat layer containing elastic fine particles having an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 0.5 μm on at least one surface of the film.
