PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plane emission-type semiconductor laser device for irradiating a laser light having a hollow irradiating pattern with a relatively simple constitution. SOLUTION: This plane emission-type semiconductor laser device 10 includes: a metal-made discal stem 12; a submount 14 placed on the top face of the stem 12; a VCSEL array 16 placed on the submount 14; a cap 18 attached on the stem 12; and a plurality of lead terminals 20, 22, 24, 26 expanded downward from the bottom face of the stem 12, wherein a laser light in a ring pattern S is irradiated from the top face of the cap 18 by selectively driving concentrically arranged VCSEL of the VCSEL array 16.
