PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve product quality of a plasma display device by improving detection precision of an initial failure in a manufacturing process. SOLUTION: A driving circuit has a normal driving mode and an aging driving mode. In the aging driving mode, a subfield number in 1 field period is made smaller than the subfield number in 1 field period in the normal driving mode, and a length of a writing period is made longer than the writing period in the normal driving mode. In the writing period, writing pulses are applied alternately to data electrodes, so that the data electrode to which the writing pulse is applied and the data electrode to which the writing pulse is not applied become mutually neighbored. The writing pulse is continuously applied to the data electrode to which the writing pulse is applied during the writing period, and during a maintenance period, the number of generated maintenance pulses is made smaller than that during the maintenance period of the normal driving mode.
