<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device for detecting touch of a finger even when the detection level of an optical sensor changes due to the intensity of ambient rays of light in a use environment, or even when the detection level of an optical sensor changes due to secular change or the characteristic deterioration due to an environment temperature under the intensity of the same ambient rays of light. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device equipped with a touch panel function is provided with: a plurality of ambient light sensors 7 installed in a matrix on an array substrate 3 for detecting ambient rays of light; a shield light sensor 7A for covering a portion of the plurality of ambient light sensors 7 with a black matrix 4 for shielding the rays of light; and a control part 10 for adding α(fixed value) to a sensor level detected by the shield light sensor 7A to calculate a threshold, and for comparing the sensor level detected by the ambient light sensor 7 with the threshold, and for, when the sensor level detected by the ambient light sensor 7 is lower than the threshold, detecting the presence of a light-shielding object on the ambient light sensor 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
