<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating apparatus that stably applies lubricant for a long period without complicating or upsizing the apparatus to thereby stabilize conveyance properties of belts. <P>SOLUTION: The image heating apparatus includes: a fixing roller 71; a fixing belt 731 for forming a heating nip between the fixing roller 71; a pressure pad 740, which is arranged slidably with the inside of the fixing belt 731 in the heating nip, and which presses the fixing belt 731 toward the fixing roller 71; and an oil holding layer 735a for holding the lubricant; and an oil application control layer 735b for controlling an amount of the applied lubricant. The image heating apparatus has a lubricant application member, which is in contact with the inside of the fixing belt 731 to apply the lubricant to the inside of the fixing belt 731 while rotating.
