PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content recording-reproducing device of low power consumption and having no problem in a waiting period due to a starting time of a recorder at the recording and reproducing operation, even when a plurality of recorders are used. SOLUTION: At the recording operation, a single content is separately recorded on a selected one among a regularly drivable first recorder 10 and a plurality of second recorders 12, 14, 16 drivable in case of need, and made to arrange while enhancing a power saving so that information specifying data separately recorded on the first recorder together with information specifying the separately recorded content, information specifying the second recorder, and information specifying the separately recorded on the second recorder are recorded on the first recorder as index. At the reproduction, the reproduction starts from the data of a top part of the first recorder and turns on the power source of the second recorder selected at the recording operation by using the index, so as to reproduce from the first recorder until its rising, after that, to reproduce from the second recorder.
