PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gearbox kit for teaching material wherein a plurality of gearboxes can be optionally and easily connected lengthwise and crosswise, in orthogonal direction or the like. SOLUTION: The gearbox kit for teaching material includes: a drive gearbox 12 with a built-in motor or a generator 24; one or more reduction gearboxes 13 and 14 with a plurality of built-in transmission gears movable with the transmission gear of the drive gear box; first shafts 43 detachably inserted into the rotary shaft of the transmission gear from outside the reduction gearbox and rotate linked with the rotation of the transmission gears; a motive power direction converting gearbox 15 with built-in bevel gears 59, 60, and 61; second shafts 62 detachably inserted into the rotary shaft of the bevel gear and rotate linked with the rotation of the bevel gears; interlocking gears 45 and 64 attachable to and detachable from the first and the second shaft and capable of, by being engaged with each other, transmitting the rotation of the reduction gearbox to the motive power direction converting gearbox; recessed portions 28, 47, and 66 having apertures 27, 46, and 65; and joint blocks 71 connecting the boxes with each other.
