PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress contact of a cable with a plate while restraining external shape from getting large in an original reader. SOLUTION: A carriage used for the original reader is equipped with an original reading part for reading an original, a connection part formed at the bottom part of the carriage and connecting the cable, and a projecting part formed in a direction where the cable is drawn from the connection part and pressing the cable downward.
