PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer organogel with excellent strength, particularly rigidity which can retain a liquid organic matter such as an organic solvent and oil as a solvent in a large quantity, a polymer composition and a process for producing them. SOLUTION: The polymer organogel contains liquid organic medium and modified water-swellable layered silicate compound in a polymer with a three-dimensional crosslinked structure, wherein the modified water-swellable layered silicate compound is modified by cation exchange of water-swellable layered silicate compound using a cationic organic compound; the polymer is produced by the polymerization of a monomer having one addition-polymerizable unsaturated bond with a monomer having at least two addition-polymerizable unsaturated bonds.
