<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system which can easily perform many kinds of operation with simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: A remote control device 3 has a wheel 14 deciding an operation signal for operating a projector 2, and a transmission means transmitting the operation signal by the wheel 14 to the projector 2. The projector 2 has an operation signal reception part 23 receiving the operation signal, a ROM 53 holding a wheel image 82 imitating shape of the wheel 14 of the remote control device 3 and item names 85 of a plurality of items which can be selected by the operation of the remote control device 3 as an item selection image, and a projection part 25 displaying the item selection image B.
