CLOCK DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM, AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clock distribution system in which the timing of received optical data signal coincides with the timing of a clock of a self-station in communication of either direction when two-way optical communication is performed between a master station and a slave station.

SOLUTION: In the clock distribution system 100, a loop is formed, wherein an optical clock signal for clock distribution circulates between a master station 1 and a slave station 2 through optical fibers 3A and 3B. At that time, a phase of the optical clock signal is locked by an output signal of an oscillator 15 for generating a reference clock. As a result of this, a propagation delay of an incoming/outgoing optical data signal transmitted through the optical fibers 3A and 3B is incorporated into clocks of both the master station 1 and the slave station 2.
