<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of a brush in an indoor unit of an air conditioner comprising a brush member kept into contact with an air filter to remove dust. <P>SOLUTION: This indoor unit comprises a rotary brush 51 having a cylindrical shaft 51a, and a brush 51b disposed on a part in the circumferential direction, of an outer peripheral face of the shaft 51a, and kept into contact with the air filter 30 to scrape off dust. A brush driving means 53 is disposed to switch a state that the brush 51b is kept into contact with the air filter 30 and a state that the brush 51b is separated from the air filter 30 by rotating the rotary brush 51.
