PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device, such as an onboard camera device in which noise is inconspicuous even though gain is increased during low illuminance. SOLUTION: An MTF correction switching control means 105 of a control part 100 transmits a switching signal of MTF correction OFF to a switching circuit 170, during low illuminance, on the basis of an output of an imaging element 100, lighting, etc., of a small lamp and a tail lamp, and information directly or indirectly indicating ambient illuminance. The switching circuit 170 usually sends image data subjected to MTF correction from an MTF correcting part 160 to a distortion aberration correcting part 180 of a poststage, but on receiving a switching signal of MTF correction OFF, sends image data from a chromatic aberration of magnification correcting part 150 as it is to the distortion aberration correcting part 180.
