PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise reduction device capable of preventing overcorrection from being caused by erroneous detection. SOLUTION: A driving pulse of a motor 113 being a noise source is selected by an input selection part 116 and is inputted to a false noise generation part 118 as a reference input signal to generate a false noise signal corresponding to a target noise. The false noise signal is subtracted from a video signal input by a subtractor 104 to obtain a noise-canceled video output signal. Characteristics of the false noise are preliminarily measured and are stored in a ROM 108, and a characteristic value corresponding to the reference input is read out from the ROM 108 simultaneously with reference input selection in the input selection part 116 and is sent to a false noise generation part 118 to set characteristics.
