PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of effectively restraining deformation of a bead section. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire includes an annular bead core 5 formed by layeredly winding at least one steel wire S with a circular cross section in a densest state. A total cross section area of the steel wire S included in a range Wi on an inner side in the tire axial direction is made larger than that in an outer range Wo in the tire axial direction, from a center position Wc of the bead core width W measured along an extension direction of the layer of the bead core 5, and the total cross section area of the steel wire S included in a range Hi on an inner side in the tire diametrical direction is made larger than that in an outer range Ho in the tire diametrical direction, from a center position Hc of the bead core height H measured along the direction orthogonally crossing the extended direction of the layer of the bead core 5, to sequentially array the steel wire S positioned on the outermost side in the tire axial direction of each layer of the bead core 5 on a single straight line L.
