PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a breakage in a vehicle or parking equipment by detecting a back end of the vehicle, protruding from a pallet, even if the back end thereof is a portion except a bumper. SOLUTION: This parking equipment 1 is equipped with an ascending/descending pallet P1 which vertically ascends/descends in the state of having the vehicle placed thereon, and a control panel 10 which controls the operations of the ascending/descending pallet P1. The parking equipment 1 is also equipped with a first vehicle position detecting sensor 7 which is positioned in a boundary area at the back end of the ascending/descending pallet P1 and which has an optical axis horizontally passing in a position with a height greater than a specified vehicle height, and the control panel 10 which stops the ascent of the ascending/descending pallet P1 when outgoing light of the first vehicle position detecting sensor 7 is shielded by the back end 14 of the vehicle, protruding from the pallet, during the ascent of the ascending/descending pallet P1.
