FIELD: electrical engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: pulse modulator relates to high-voltage power supplies and can be used for obtaining amplitude stabilised voltage pulses across a load in a wide range of variation of duration and frequency of generated pulses. The pulse modulator has a controlled ac voltage source (1), connected in series with a transformer (2), with N secondary windings. Each secondary winding, connected to a rectifier (3), forms N series-connected modules. Each rectifier (3) is connected in series with the first controlled switch (4) and diode (5), which is shunted by the second controlled switch (7). The cathode of diode (5) of the first module is connected to the anode of diode (5) of the second module etc. Use of voltage sensor (9), third control switch (11), adding device (10) and driving voltage source (12), increases stability of output voltage. Owing to negative feedback, the value of voltage at the output of the rectifier (3) is continuously controlled and kept in exact conformity with the given voltage value across the load (6), during pulse generation and during pauses. Forced discharge of parasitic capacitance of the load (6), through controlled switches (7) during load tripping, speeds up operation. ^ EFFECT: increased stability of output voltage. ^ 1 dwg |
