<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder for an image forming device, determining the quality of a backside of used paper fed from a manual backside paper feeder and feeding only the high-quality backside of the used paper, for reusing the rear surface of recording paper (backside of the used paper) with an image recorded on a front surface. <P>SOLUTION: The backside of the used paper fed from the manual backside paper feeder 44 is conveyed to a bypass conveyance path 46. A backside paper processing section 60 provided on the bypass conveyance path 46 is composed of an auxiliary separating device 61, a paper powder removing device 65, a waviness detection device 71, and the like. The auxiliary separating device 61 separates the backside of the used paper double fed (fed together), and the paper powder removing device 65 removes paper powder or the like. Further, the waviness detection device 71 detects the waviness (corrugation) of the backside of the used paper, and only the reusable high quality backside of the used paper having few waviness is conveyed to a first paper feeding cassette, and waits to be fed.
