<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extensible shaft and a steering system having the extensible shaft facilitating the assembly work of an elastically deformable sleeve and an energizing member to a male shaft, allowing the presence of the assembled energizing member to be externally confirmed, and effectively applying the energizing force of a spring as a previous load to the elastically deformable sleeve interposed in a clearance between the male shaft and a female shaft. <P>SOLUTION: Partial sleeves 71 with plate springs 84 connected beforehand thereto are assembled to the male shaft 12B. Assembly work is thereby facilitated, and an assembling time is reduced. When the partial sleeve 71 and the plate spring 84 are connected, a flat part 841 and a stepped part 842 of the plate spring 84 are exposed to the outer periphery 7142 of a connecting sleeve part 714. The presence of the assembled plate spring 84 can thereby be externally confirmed, and a failure to assemble the plate spring 84 can be easily prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
