<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool and a machining method, effectively attenuating vibrations of the tool by changing a natural frequency according to the replacing or moving of an attachment. <P>SOLUTION: In the machine tool and the machining method, a column base 12 supported in a horizontally movable condition on a bed 11; a column 13 is raised on the column base 12; a saddle 14 vertically movably is supported on a side surface of the column 13; a ram stock 15 horizontally movably is supported on the saddle 14; and a spindle 16 is rotatably supported on the ram stock 15. The ram stock 15 is provided with a damper 21, an O-ring 22 is provided between the ram stock 15 and the damper 21, the O-ring 22 can be deformed by a crushing member 23, and an NC system 24 can adjust the degree of deformation of the O-ring 22 by the crushing member 23 according to the mass of the attachment 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
