PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an austenitic stainless steel member especially excellent in stress-corrosion cracking resistance in furnace water, and a nuclear reactor member using the same. SOLUTION: Cold working is applied to the surface of the austenitic stainless steel sheet, and in the thickness direction thereof, the austenitic stainless worked steel sheet having strain distribution such that strain on the surface of this steel sheet is larger than that at the center part thereof, is formed. A heat-treatment is applied to this worked steel sheet at the temperature of 900-950°C to obtain the austenitic stainless steel member. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
