PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protecting facility having a protector structure preventing catching of a head part of an occupant moving upwardly in a wedge-shaped space formed between a moving handrail and a fixed body, and suitable for improvement of safety as a closed body configuration preventing climbing onto a balustrade deck. SOLUTION: The protecting facility is constituted of: a protector 3 comprising a vertical edge 3C having an upper end part 3A fixed to the fixed body 2 and a lower end part 3B located in a position lower than that of the moving handrail 1B in the wedge-shaped space Q where the moving handrail 1B and the fixed body 2 are crossed leaving a horizontal gap m; and a closed body 6 comprising a slant face 6A and a vertical edge 6B between the vertical edge 3C and a balustrade 1E and having an approximately U-shape.
