The safety arrangement has a support arm (40), which pivots on the instrument panel cross member (50), hinged, at a given angle, to a second support arm (42) connected to the vehicle dash panel (18). A pull rod (54) is connected at one end to the end of the first support arm (40) and, at the other end, by a ring (56) to the brake operating rod (28). If the vehicle is involved in a collision and the dash panel (18) is deformed, the support rods (40,42) displace the brake operating rod (28) drawing the brake pedal (20) away from the instrument panel. |
