SIGNATURES ASSOCIATED WITH REJECTION OR RECURRENCE OF CANCER

摘要

Methods and tools for assessing the prognosis for patients following treatment of primary tumors are provided. The methods involve identifying immune-related genetic markers whose expression patterns at tumor lesions are indicative of either tumor recurrence or recurrence-free survival. If recurrence is indicated, the methods can also distinguish between the likely cause of recurrence being tumor evasion of the immune system or suppression of the immune system. The methods and tools of the invention assist physicians by providing objective decision-making tools for planning patient treatment protocols.
