<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image compression device for an image format incapable of containing alpha data that compresses an image with alpha data attached. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes an image data input part 1, a first conversion part 3 for dividing a data block into a color data block and a transparency data block and converting the color data block into a macro block of color data, a second conversion part 5 for converting the transparency data block as a color data block into a macro block of transparency data, a coding part 7 for combining the macro block of color data and the macro block of transparency data into a set of macro blocks and coding the set of macro blocks, and an output part 9 for outputting the coded data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
