<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact projector of excellent portability, capable of outputting a bright and clear image or the like over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The projector has a light emitting member 11 for emitting a light beam L toward a prescribed screen Sn, a bi-axial actuator mounted with the light emitting member 11 and capable of changing freely a direction of the light beam L, a detecting member for detecting a posture of the bi-axial actuator, and a control part for generating a feedback signal for controlling the posture, based on a data output from the detecting member, to be supplied to the bi-axial actuator. The constitution of the whole projector is reduced in size, because the detecting member detects the posture of a movable portion and can control the posture by itself.
